The books a treasure, sent to the wrong apt at first but that's another story... Once that box entered the house my 3 yr old was all over it and it's looking like I'll be buying another one for myself but then who knows definitely a good buy if you or your kids love the grinch better buy if both of you do lol just buy two

I got this book as a gift for my younger cousins during the holidays and they love it. Great to use as a pastime i.e. on a road trip/plane ride as many people travel during he holidays. I think it's good for kids and adults as well.

This is an awesome children’s coloring book. I highly recommend it for teachers as a fun brain break from a lesson plan or activity for a holiday party. The book outlines the narrative of how the Grinch Stole Christmas through the original and unique images. This is great for children under 9 but adults can have fun with it too at office holiday parties!

Really nothing special. Disappointing after the hype.

I bought this for my nieces for Christmas as they are currently obsessed with The Grinch. When I got them I was excited to see the images and was met with distorted and bad quality images. I had not one, not two, but three duplicate images in one book. Am returning for a full refund. Don’t waste your money.

Don't waste your money on this coloring book. I could have made a better one myself. Xeroxed sheets bound in a nice cover, certainly not worth the money. Too much detail for a little one to color.

My students loved being able to color the different pictures and doing the fun activities! Great product for kids.

I purchased this as a gift for my 12 year old niece. The pictures are funny and very detailed so I recommend the book for maybe 6 years and up.

I used to drink wine and had the same things as her. I could drink one bottle a night, I drank before bedtime to help sleep but found out I wasnt getting the good sleep I deserve. Another reason was big life changing events... I realize that alcohol is no place to go when stressed. You can drink more and it causes problems in your life. With Amnesia to blackouts and what example was this to my family? Having a alcoholic Father and Grandfather should have been first reason not to but now after 4 years I stopped. Cutting back didnt work cause it's hard to do. I like her wine witch, you'll have to read it. I got her words engraved in my mind! I also read Annie Grace's book too. Why would I drink something that tastes so awful, tons of empty calories, and becoming wine dumb. I didnt hit rock bottom like my Father though it wasnt easy at first, I desire it no more. There are so many wonderful things in Clare's book, she has a sense of humor! She got breast cancer and survived and tells you of her journey. She is awesome! Her fears and worries but overcame them, a survivor, and so grateful of her life and family! I maybe be jumping around on my review cause there is so much to say about her book and me being sober! It is known to be social thing, there is peer pressure and those suffering from depression like my Father turned to alcohol for relief but it ended up making his life worse. I didnt understand this back in 1994 and there was a stigma to alcohol and depression and not enough available resources you could find easily.I lost a few pounds, look and feel better and more alert. All these things take time there is no quick fixes. And...think of all the money you saved! I decided there is no benefits to alcohol. It is like an old friend that is hard to let go. But alcohol is no friend! It was hard to convince my unconscious mind for a long time. Writing this review is a big step for me and Clare's book helped emensly!! Thank you so much!! I am free!! You may or may not benefit from this book but keep searching until you find the right tool to guide you in the right direction!

I have been toying around with the idea of stopping drinking for awhile now. I am someone for whom moderation is difficult and the results of drinking seem to more conflict with my values than they do align anymore. I got online to buy "The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober" and when that wasn't available in Kindle version in my area, I bought this book while I waited for my paperback of the other to arrive. I have so much respect for Clare for sharing her journey so candidly. I LOVED her book and every evening I really just looked forward to curling up in bed and reading more of her story. I identified with her fears very much which felt so comforting, and her evaluation of the upsides of not drinking are genuine and give me lots of hope and inspiration. Her sense of humor was AMAZING. I am regrettably hard to make laugh and she is a RIOT. The book is so enjoyable, so readable, the story was so compelling, there were NO slow spots for me. Now I wonder if "The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober" could ever measure up to Clare's book. Thank you, Clare, for putting your story out in the world, you are doing such a good service to help anyone struggling or even simply considering if there might be a better way. I absolutely LOVED your book.

Let me start off by saying I'm not one for actually buying kindle books nor am I one to review a product but in this case I knew I needed to when it's such a life changing topic. I just started following Clare's blog about two months ago when I decided I needed to stop drinking. When I saw she had a book I was curious but thought "what more information could it provide?" and "I'm a twenty-five year old single woman...am I really going to relate to this?" It is SO GOOD! I really love how it provided some good information about the process of no longer drinking, the effects on you and others, made you feel like you weren't crazy for going through some of the same things, and still read like an actual story.

This book is beautifully-written, and explores a serious condition without being maudlin or depressing. It gives a first-hand, honest recounting of the journey of Recovery and Spiritual Awakening. It is at times funny and light-hearted, while at the same time giving its subject the respect it deserves. I loved it.

With the new year starting, I was looking for a change. I can relate to Clare in the fact that alcohol started as fun times in college but is now a part of everyday life to break up the monotony of life with kids. Loved the way she linked alcohol to poor sleep and depression. Definitely helped me make some positive changes.

Great book. Easy to read and I would say "fun to read", but with the acknowledgement the topic itself is difficult and painful. A hidden story for many. Have read the author's (Clare) blog and so glad she published her book.

Clare Pooley is my hero. This book is real and funny - she is a successful professional who chose to be a stay at home Mum. People will relate to her struggles to find a role and real joy especially as motherhood seems to be either the extreme of Pinterest perfect of Mummy-needs-wine-to-survive . Marketing alcohol to mothers is truly out of control. In her chatty way, Clare explains the science of what alcohol does to your body, take about the social conditioning that keeps us drinking and ultimately takes back control just in time to deal with a serious health issue.I hope she writes many more books. She’s entertaining and clever and honest.

Bravely written and that’s why it’s good.A great mix of relatable experience, dash of humor, interesting facts and deeply multi-faceted layers.I read this to support myself on my journey to stop drinking and I got so much more than I expected.I have done an inventory of my own life and suddenly the lights came on: overshopping, etc.etc... I liked this book because there were interesting details in it. However, the author's obsession with a channeled text called OASPHE (which she references repeatedly throughout the book) made it less reliable. I did actually decide to fact check some of the claims made by the author and found that they were not credible. The "white Indians" in South America were not/are not truly white people, but instead are albinos. This is clear if you look at the pictures available on the Internet in a simple Google search. However, I could find some things to substantiate other claims, such as DNA evidence of European haplogroups in the current Native American population as well as in ancient burial sites. Some of the claims made about the Pacific islanders seemed plausible. Anyway, it was still an interesting book but just not completely believable.

Thoroughly fascinating and impossible to put down-- I read it in a couple of hours and was left wanting more. The author is among my favorites and her knack for thorough, tireless research did not disappoint. The only thing I question is the channeled info... I'm not entirely sure what to make of it... All in all I highly recommend this book!!

The research in this book is worth of a Nobel Prize. Jam packed with extremely well organized and fascinating details. This is good enough for any professor as a reference book and can be good for any newcomer layperson interested in the subject. The breakthroughs from this piece of work are useful to many other researchers for their connections to history such as Ralph Ellis.Absolutely marvelous.

This book is not scientific, and has no peer review.The author has repeatedly published "alternate facts," that have no basis in reality or scientific investigation. The case for a submerged continent is as old as the Bible, and just because it is OLD, does not make it REALITY.She styles herself as an expert in, "ALTERNATIVE ARCHAEOLOGY," which is all you need to know.Perhaps, FAKE ARCHAELOLGY would be a suitable YOUTUBE channel for this MINDLESS dribble.

I must begin by saying I read the book believing it was a discussion of the Middle Earth books and their place in literature and a biography of Tolkien mixed in. It is a far greater analysis of the author, his works, and a explanation of the role philology played in Tolkien's creative procexx. The author, himself a philosophically trained Professor, brings forth an very detailed explanation of the origins and impact this knowledge the history, originx, and relationships of language had on Professor Tolkien's works. The text have me a better understanding how Tolkien's own academic interests helped form his most seminal texts, but also how these successes weighed down his other academic and literary endeavors. I can recommend the book to any student of writing, history, literary creation, or Tolkien Devotees. However, people immersed in the Cinemanic Middle Earth may not enjoy the book as much.

I have read this book many times over. If you are like me, a person that cannot get enough Tolkien, you will enjoy this book and the other one written by Shippey. They provide tremendous insight and understanding into how Tolkien wrote these books and where he got a lot of ideas from etc. For me personally, I found the chapters dealing with his other works to be far more interesting. The whole "Faerie" Lost Road angle I found to be mesmerizing. The idea that he had spent maybe so much his life engaged in sub-creative fantasy worlds that he wanted to believe there was a "Lost Road" to it was both poignant and sad to me. It is the same feeling I had after finishing The Lord of The Rings.

I was prompted to read his book after watching the appendices from the five-disc sets to the three Hobbit movies and the five-disc sets to the three Lord Of The Rings movies. Tom Shippey was interviewed extensively in all, and he provided quite a bit of scholarly background that enhanced the viewing of all six movies. The book did not disappoint. He writes as well as he speaks, and his perspective as a scholar is invaluable in gaining further insight into the world created by Tolkien. Next steps? Why, read all four books again, and then watch the appendices to hear Shippey's contribution to them. I can't wait. But the book is about more than these classics, and he writes thoughtfully about all of Tolkien's works. This book is well worth reading, and re-reading.

This book is really an exceptionally well-written view of JRR Tolkien. As a dedicated Tolkien fan, I read just about everything by and about him, and Shippey's insightful angle of learning about him by studying what he wrote and why is wonderfully interesting, and different from the standard biography that Tolkien so hated. I enjoyed this book very much, and keep it close at hand with my other best-loved reference material about Tolkien.

This is an excellent book for anyone who wants an in-depth view of Tolkien. Most people today aren't philologists, so a lot of the depth of Tolkien's work is lost to the average reader. Shippey does an awesome job taking a microscope to the text and showing the incredible intricacy of The Silmarillion, Hobbit, and LotR. He shows the reader which ancient works Tolkien used for his own subcreation, as well as the way that those 'real' worlds and words affected his. It's definitely a great book for anyone who's interested in learning more about Tolkien and how his work is an extension of his philology. It shows how masterful Tolkien was, and how sophisticated his work is. Shippey is an amazing philologist in his own right, and the analysis in this book shows his academic caliber.

Starting with Shippey's opening claim that "The dominant literary mode of the twentieth century has been the fantastic," this is a fascinating study of Tolkien, what influenced him, and what he in turn influenced. Shippey discusses the concepts of Evil and Myth, and places Tolkien in a group of "traumatized" authors, mostly veterans, who wrote non-realistic fiction (Orwell, Vonnegut, Golding, CS Lewis, TH White, Heller, and (stretching it a bit) LeGuin). Shippey also continues his examination of the pagan roots of Tolkien's concept of courage from his 1983 "The Road to Middle-earth," and includes a useful chapter on the often-neglected shorter works. His examination of the critics who dismiss Tolkien offers excellent insights into the failures of modern criticism. This book is a good place for the novice reader of Tolkien criticism to start, and there is an extensive bibliography of other critical works. The copy I borrowed on interlibrary-loan is full of post-it notes awaiting transfer to the copy I have on order!

A truly enjoyable book on the scholarship behind the writing of Tolkien and LotR. Mr. Shippey brings to life the depth of knowledge inherent in Tolkien's fantasy works. It is wonderful how he explains how Tolkien's love of philology and works like Beowulf and the Elder Edda informs his writing.

The author/doctor writes how I talk in every day life with many f-bombs and gritty analogies. She does a wonderful job providing a crash course on what someone is going through when they are having panic attacks and then supplements facts with resources in case you wanted to learn more. I've used some of the techniques in this book and I trust what the author/doctor is trying to do, which is to help provide knowledge to people who feel lost.

This book is about finding the root cause of your "uncomfortable" feelings, challenging you to examine things in your life. Once you are able to identify the cause(s), you can then begin to deal with it/them properly, and start your own path to healing 💜💜💜💜💜

Dr Faith has discovered a way to reach the rebellious youth crowd with valuable knowledge and entertaining writing style. I especially like her views on addiction. First treat the originating cause, then discover a replacement coping activity, then work on letting go of the addiction. Ahead of her time. I would like to see her expand her section on treating depression. While I consider this to be an entertainingly vulgar style of writing, I found I was able to stay with it much longer than I could have were she to have written in the more traditional staid prose.

Book was okay but there was a lot of foul language in it that really didn't need to be there

Great book, great content. Way too much cursing though. It takes away from the point in some instances. If you're easily offended by language, this book isn't for you. If you're able to tolerate the language, and read between the lines then I definitely recommend it. This book has been very helpful for me working through some of the trauma in my life.

Not what I was expecting based on the description. I expected more out of this book. I thought there would be more substance to it.

This book is a good read, smaller in size than I expected but I wasn’t reading the dimensions so it’s all good. I enjoy that the book puts everything into layman terms and also adds facts about the brain and body.
