Bright, colorful, straight from Allie Brosh's imagination comes this wonderfully delightful 2015 wall calendar! The calendar is large, which means more colors and fun! I have it hanging up in my office currently since it shows the last four months of 2014 on one page. There are swear words here and there, but I'll just stick a post-it over them to censor it so that it's work-appropriate. I'm a cat person, Brosh has doggies and has doodles of them but I don't mind because it's just so wonderful! If you're a fan of her blog and book, you'll love this calendar. Wait, no, you NEED this calendar! BE ONE OF US!

Hands up! The single best purchase of my entire 2015 year. No, I don't think that's too grand a statement to make. Yes, I do know it's only January. No, I don't think I'm digging myself a regret hole. Yes, I do love Allie Brosh's work. No, I don't think I'll get tired of staring at this beautiful calendar at any point during the entirety of the remainder of the year. Yes, I am getting tired of your questions. No, you're not allowed to ask any more questions.An absolute necessity for anyone who a) Enjoys Allie's work, b) Has read her book, c) Can appreciate color and cake, or d) Any combination of the above.

I like this calendar, I don't love it. I had high hopes for it being as amazing as Allie's blog and for me it fell short. Maybe it's because you don't have the stories behind her drawings, but there were only a couple months that I was really into. January was my favorite. I think there are other drawings, etc that would have been better suited to a calendar. I still like it a lot, however, I probably would purchase something else in the future.

I love Allie Brosh's blog, book, and illustrations, so this calendar was pretty much a given for me. The paper is fairly heavy, has a nice gloss to it, and it has everything that you might look for in a good calendar. There's plenty of space to write, loads of cute illustrations throughout including my favorite, January's "Maybe everything isn't hopeless bull$hit" (Can you curse on Amazon?)I'm a fairly disorganized person, so having a calendar is a must. It's a lot better when that calendar makes you smile each day.

I am a long time follower of Hyperbole and a Half! Her blog nearly had me peeing myself when I was pregnant with my youngest son. Lordy. I was happy to be able to purchase the calendar. I was lazy and waited till July to purchase and it was funny because my daughter had a birthday and the cartoon was about eating cake. Ha ha! We all had a good laugh! So funny.

This was probably my favorite calendar EVER. I was always excited to change the month and see what was new for each month. If I wasn't bought a calendar for this year I would have bought another one of these for 2016.

Absolutely love it. Makes more sense if you have read the book. Pages are not too thin that they won't tear easily but not too thick. Hangs nicely without the worry of it being too heavy for a thumbtack. Worth every penny.

Rae Carson, who previously contributed to the "Canto Bight" story collection, returns to a galaxy far, far away in "Most Wanted", a tie-in novel to "Solo: A Star Wars Story". The plot focuses on Han and Qi’ra working to spare themselves Lady Proxima and the White Worm’s wrath while navigating the back alleys and sewers of Corellia when a deal that comes with a promised promotion goes wrong.The story itself, like that in "Solo" is essentially a heist tale, but Carson uses the opportunity to reference other elements of the "Star Wars" saga and foreshadow Han’s later personality. For example, CorSec (pg. 37), which previously appeared in several of the Legends novels and was once again made canon in "Solo", plays a large role throughout Carson’s novel. In examining Han’s character, she writes, “He preferred direct confrontation to innuendo, sneaking around, or the complicated planning Qi’ra seemed to prefer” (pg. 121). This discussion recalls Han’s later quip to Luke in the Death Star control room. Further, Han’s lack of belief in the Force or other systems of faith is a recurrent theme (pg. 127) throughout the novel. This ties in with his growing cynicism the more he interacts with the powerful (pg. 338). In another callback to (foreshadowing of?) "A New Hope", Carson has Han describe the ideal vehicle as ugly, but one that will “have it where it counts” (pg. 151).References to other elements of "Solo: A Star Wars Story" include the Droid Gotra, which recalls L3’s activism on behalf of droid liberation throughout the film (pg. 180). Further, Qi’ra wants to be a player, being able to use power and resources to exert her influence (pg. 237, 303). There’s also a “version of sabacc that used a couple of dice” (pg. 307).As a tie-in novel, Carson offers a fun story that makes Corellia feel like a real place. Her work compares to other recent YA "Star Wars" books like Claudia Gray’s "Leia, Princess of Alderaan", Beth Revis’s "Rebel Rising", and E.K. Johnston’s "Ahsoka". Fun as it is, my only complaint is that, like "Solo", it never develops a sense of tension or stakes as the reader knows which characters are likely to be fine the whole time they read.

I really enjoyed Solo: A Star Wars Story. While that movie showed the end of their time on Corellia, this novel gave great insight into the beginnings of Han and Qi'ra's relationship on the streets of Corellia, and life under the slimy thumbs of gang leader Lady Proxima. We see that, despite his slickness and cynicism, Han has always been something of the hero at heart, characteristics we see reflected when we meet him later in life in the Star Wars movies. Qi'ra is a bit more pragmatic, less trusting and more wary and realistic when it comes to dealing with others. In this book, we see Han and Qi'ra becoming friends and learning to trust one another and learn from one another. Han is impulsive, very much living in the moment and connecting easily with others through charm and swagger. Qi'ra is more of a cautious planner, keeping things close to her chest and people at arms length. As they are thrust together on an adventure that puts them on the run from a number of criminal organizations, they discover that by combining their talents, they get much further together than then would on their own. This is a fast-paced tale that sheds some light on the relationships we see in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but also works as a gripping tale in its own right.

This is one of the few recent Star Wars novels that REALLY worked for me. Which, you know, is a little ironic, considering how terribly received the 'Solo' movie was (although I did like it quite a bit). In any case, the reason why 'Most Wanted' works, apart from the fact that it stars the legendary Han Solo (and yeah, it's the Ehrenreich version; deal with it), is that Carson writes very fluidly and relatively simply, which turns the novel into a very easy, and very addictive read. The story gives quite a bit of background to both Han and Qi'ra (as well as a third character that doesn't appear in the film), and justifies some of their actions and characterisation in the 'Solo' picture. 'Most Wanted' is further proof that the best of the current Star Wars authors are women, as much as this might anger the toxic and sexist fans; much like the awesome Claudia Gray, Rae Carson has managed to write a really entertaining, addictive and deceptively simple Star Wars novel, one which manages to entertain, but to also give another dimension to both classic and new characters. What more could we want from it?

This book ties into the new film, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY in fun ways. You get a picture of how Han and Qi'ra lived their lives in the mean streets of Correlia, before the romance you see on the screen takes place. Han Solo is a character we have come to love over the years, and this delves even earlier into his backstory. I found that there were moments and lines of dialogue that struck me as very un-Han-ish behavior.But it's easy to picture Alden Eirenreich saying those lines in this book. And for that, I think Carson succeeds. It's a fun adventure, and it leaves you wanting to know more about the adventures of Han Solo and Qi'ra.

I read the Kindle version of Most Wanted.Set before the events of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Most Wanted leads a teenaged Han Solo and Qi'ra on an adventure through the mean streets of Corellia.Working as part of a street gang, the White Worms, Han Solo has a tough life. They live in the sewers and do the bidding of Lady Proxima. Proxima sets Han and Qi'ra on separate but, unknown to them, connected missions, with the lure of leading the children of the White Worms if they succeed.This adventure tells the story of how Han and Qi'ra come together.Targeted at a teen audience, this book is fast paced and easy reading. It does a good job of building the Han Solo we meet in Solo: A Star Wars story (if not so much the Han Solo we love from the Original Trilogy).It is enjoyable reading, but not great, and we learn a little more about the seedy underbelly of the Star Wars galaxy.

When I told my 7 yr old I ordered this three book set she was so excited. She wanted me to check tracking as she couldn't wait for them to arrive. She told me she had already read the first book but was very happy that now she owned a copy. She read volume two from cover to cover the minute she got them. She said "Dad I can read these books over and over!" Win win

I recently purchased this box set for my nephew as a Christmas gift. When a seven year old child asks you to buy them books, you do just that! He has shared with me his love for the books and how much he is enjoying them. I was told about each book and how wonderful Dogman is so much so that I feel as if I have read them all.

Not what I would have chosen, but Dogman and Captain Underpants are all the rage in the second grade right now at my sons school. I have noticed an increase in the need for conversations about using polite manners- there does seem to be some rude humor. These books have sparked a drawing frenzy in my kid- that I like. Your kids will probably love them.

My son loves these books! He hates reading and has a reading disability and these are the only books he actually wants to read on his own without being prompted to read a book.

To be honest, I've never heard of Dog Man. My son absolutely loves this set. A better value to buy vs each book separately. I highly recommend this book if you have children between the age of 6-9.

My 7 yr son is *obsessed* w this series. He actively reads these everywhere - at night, in the car, after school, in the tub, on the can, on the trampoline...The comic book graphics draw him in and, on his own, he can now pronounce and read complex/compound words I never thought he'd comprehend at his age level. I can honestly say bc of this one series his reading level went from poor (and unengaged) to advanced. The potty humor in it, which he LOVES, gets repeated at school, which in turn results in teacher reprimand and makes me a "bad parent," but this series has nurtured a love for reading in my son that is priceless, so.

My nine-year-old son is obsessed with these books. He read all three in about 2 weeks. And is asking for more which is awesome since he used to hate to read!
